Summer 2009 Course in the UK “Not a holiday but a life changing experience”

Once again OB Monaco sponsored local youngsters to go on the 3 week OB classic course in the Lake District in the UK during July and August.

Thanks to a successful 2008 fund raising event at Saint James’s Palace, OB Monaco was able to fund more youngsters than ever and this year sent 20 local school children to experience the challenge of a life time. General secretary Judy Churchill is quick to point out: “ This is not an easy option holiday course. Quite the opposite: Outward Bound is designed to be life changing experience.

This is where many youngsters discover who they really are, of what they are really capable and they come back home with a completely different attitude and new philosophy on life. The challenge is double for our local youngsters: they have to cope with the physical and mental challenges and the language barrier.

However I encourage anyone who is hesitating about whether to take up the challenge to read their comments. The best account of what an OB course means to a young person must surely come from the young person themselves.
